NPDI Shine Final1The ethos behind New Professionals Day Ireland is about engaging with colleagues, sharing information, experience and skills, as well as developing a ‘New Professional’ network amongst peers.

With that in mind our Autumn event is all about YOU as New Professionals SHowcasing YOUR INformation Expertise to a wider audience – SHINE#npdishine14

Our Autumn event is an opportunity for new information professionals qualified within the last 1-5 years (including this year’s MLIS class) to showcase their expertise.

We have two opportunities available – you can produce a 10-15 minute presentation in a format of your choosing or you can produce a (printed) A3 poster.

The criteria:

The presentation or poster can be on one of the following criteria:

1) A project or capstone you worked on as part of your MLIS/MSc
2) A voluntary project you were/are involved in
3) A work project that enhanced your practical skills or required an innovative approach
4) Practical and innovative ideas that you have encountered
5) Practical experience regarding your own job search

Presentation Submission:

Submit a Powerpoint (or similar) presentation with written notes to npdireland@gmail.com by 7th September 2014.

The written notes must be submitted in a separate document (Word or PDF) to the presentation – this should be the script or notes of your presentation as you intend to deliver it.

Poster Submission:

Submit a PDF of your poster design with written notes to npdireland.gmail.com by 7th September 2014.

The written notes must be submitted in a separate document (Word or PDF) to the poster – this should be the notes on your poster design/context/content.

If successful your printed poster will be of A3 size for display on the 11th October in Pearse Street Library Conference and Exhibition space.

Successful Poster & Presentation:

We will announce those selected for both the presentation and the poster display on 15th September 2014.

The Autumn Event will take place 2pm-5pm in Pearse Street Library Conference and Exhibition Space on Saturday 11th October 2014.

Please ensure that you are available to attend if you are submitting either a poster or a presentation.

  1. Hi! Many thanks for your interest.

    Although we’re providing this event for Irish New Professionals – it is open to all – if you have a presentation or a poster and wish to submit it, you can. We’ll notify all those who are successful on the 15th of September.

    The proviso is that you have to be available to attend in Dublin on the 11th of October 2014 to either present or display your poster. You can contact us for more info via npdireland@gmail.com Many thanks!
